I got the chance to meet Mr. Stewart today at the AECA show in Chicago/Oak Lawn. He gave me an example of excellent customer service, face to face. I was mentioning to a vendor that I loved my mini canadian, but was less than thrilled with the sheath it came with. I saw that BRKT had come out with a better designed sheath, and inquired if I could purchase one. The vendor (sorry, I forgot his name) pointed out Mr. Stewart about 4 feet from me and interrupted his conversation to mention my mini dilemma. Mr. Stewart mentioned that he had some spare sheaths in his car and would get one for me. I returned later and he gave me one... when I asked how much, he waved it off and gave it to me! I am sure that I was too startled to appropriately convey my thanks and gratitude.
Mike Stewart is a stand-up guy who happens to make some wonderful knives. I got the chance to handle some BRKT models, specifically the Rogue, the new Northstar, and the Micro-Canadian. These are some fine knives at some great prices.
Thank you Mike for your personal customer service, I am a happy BRKT knife owner, and plan on more in the future.

One time, a long time ago at the Mt. Vernon, IL knife show, I won a door prize. The prize was an EK Commando knife. Nice knife. Mike Stewart just happened to be attending this show, and had several other EK models on his table. One in particular, really caught my eye, as it was a bowie model with USMC etched on the blade. When I showed my prize to Mike, he asked how I liked it. My response was, "love it, but I REALLY love that one". Mike's response? He grabbed the door prize out of my hands, and handed me the USMC bowie model. After picking my jaw up off the floor, I tried to ask him what I owed him. He wouldn't take a penny.
