Any particular reason, why you prefer SS over a brass guard?
I like brass guards a lot but realize it might not be the best material for every knife/situation.

It is my humble opinion that all hard core knife nuts should make at least one knife themselves. I think it adds additional dimensions to the obsession, much like preparing one's own food.
It's pretty uncommon for somebody's first knife to be this well done. It's quite the accomplishment.![]()
