The test I put each blade thorough is ….. to be able to cut a brass 3/8ths rod. I sharpen the rod to a point using the length of the knife. A second test I put the edge on the rod and beat the back with a hammer till the rod is cut in two. The blade can not snap, the back cannot dent, and the edge can not chip. Then must be able to cut a piece of paper in half without tearing. Past experience tells me if this test can be passed the blade will skin out a moose without re sharpening.
