I thought all of the new production Militaries (Ti) were supposed to sport the lock bar insert?I think that is just the tang you are seeing.

The first run of the Fluted Ti Millie did not have the lock bar insert. As most of you are aware, titanium is difficult to work with and production of the Ti models takes longer than that of other models. The parts for the first run (less than 200) were cut prior to the CQI (Constant Quality Improvement) decision to add the lock bar insert.
Given the small number produced without the lock bar insert and the very large number in demand, more than likely those without it will be more collectible in the years to come.
