Military Appreciation Build-Off Knife

Very nice of you Nathan but no surprise there that's just the kind of guy you are.

It's a good thing you guys are doing.

Oh, forgot to mention this. Chris is also interested in knives. He's made one from scratch on his own from O-1. He brought it and showed it to me. He did a great job for his first knife. I didn't even know he was dabbling with making knives until I spoke to him on the phone to set up the meeting. Glad it went to a service member and also to one of us knife nuts.

Thanks for the comments everyone. This was one of the most fun knives I've ever made. I didn't even feel sad to see it go like I do most knives, because it went to the right place in the right way.

Just got this email from Chris. I'll pass it along as thanks to all the people involved in this build:

"Nathan,

Thank you for the incredible knife. It is masterfully crafted, prudently designed and finished exquisitely. It will be treasured for years to come and put to good use in the field and on future deployments. Thank you not only for taking the time and effort to make such a excellent tool, but for the hospitality and grace you have shown me. When we spoke today, I was humbled by your kindness and appreciation for the United States service men and women. Yet I am enlightened as to how blessed we are to be a nation of skilled and passionate Americans such as yourself. Please extend my heartfelt appreciation to David at Great Lakes Waterjet, Spec-Ops for the sheath, and Mr.Shunnarah for the handy tag knife.

I am truly grateful for the gift, it is cause to be reminded of how thoughtful and appreciative Americans truly are.
Thank You.

SGT KENNANN, CHRISTOPHER D USMC"

Kudos to everyone else participating in this.
