Friends call me Squirrel on the account I am easily distracted and jittery :D

16 years Air Force stationed at Barksdale AFB in Shreveport Louisiana. Always had a fascination with swords and knives. Through my Military career I have collected/been issued some pretty neat combat style blades.

I have spent a lot of time in the "field", and there is no substitute for a good knife.

Looking forward to chatting with yall. I'll post up pics of my blades when I get some good shots.

The words fascination and knife in the same sentence. I believe you have come to the right place.

Welcome.

Thanks for your service and welcome to the forum. I think you'll enjoy your stay here so long as you keep your wallet locked away whenever someone posts pictures.

Welcome! I'm right behind you with 12 years in. I'll let you go first, but I'll chime in with a few issued knives in a bit.

They have mystical powers.

I received my first real knife when I was about 12. I remember we were out camping in Yosemite National Park when a 6 foot back bear came into camp, my mom and sisters where so scared. Dad was out fishin, so I pulled out my 2" blade and ran after that bear like a seasoned warrior.

I watched too much He-Man growing up, but in that case it worked out great.

Retired after 20 myself. Always had an affection or interest in knives but it was the knives I used while in service that really got me into it so I completely understand.

BFC is a great place with a lot of good folks who love to share and help out. Take you time' get a feel, and enjoy your stay!

Great story bythe way!

Welcome, Squirrel! I finished my 20 last year. Started in SP with a SAK, then Leatherman PST, moved on to Spyderco, Gerber (Gator is one of my favorites!), SOG, Cold Steel, bigger Leathermans (Leathermen?) Becker, too many others to recall. Never issued any, though.

Welcome to all you folks and I appreciate your service to our great country.
