Military Hatchet?

Good morning, brother.
This may not be the right topic, but I wanted to take advantage of your knowledge.
I have an axe like this (I bought it as a replica), but I can't find any information about the original axe with my poor English.
Could you give me some information?
Thank you.

SEMS stands for Sturm European Military Surplus, a modern producer that owns the Miltec replica equipment brand and are a wholesale-only company supplying the various locations that carry that replica. The "US SEMS 1942" markings are to follow the general required format for the intended period while at the same time identifying it as a replica. Stamping in that location and that deeply is unusual and makes it further stand out as a replica rather than original despite if following the overall format standards for marking.

Hey I got a bunch of these left over in case anyone needs a few to finish off hafting an axe.

You just have to post more pictures of your finished work.

We all start somewhere and I think the most important thing, at any stage of that journey, is a willingness to learn. Like, I've learned a lot of neat stuff over the years but that by no means indicates that I'm right all the time or that I have nothing left to learn. The pursuit of knowledge from a place of intellectual honesty is an honorable thing. Willful ignorance, on the other hand, is among humanity's' least laudable qualities and deserves curing when possible.

Any interest in explaining your expertise in making statements about intellectual honesty?

Does criticism make you feel good? Even without knowing someone's circumstances?

His hafting ability comes into question because it's one of the first things people learn in this hobby and is a sign of him being very new to this, somebody who shouldn't rudely question the expertise of others because they didn't confirm his likely uneducated opinion.

Hey, for all I know it chops like Paul Bunyan. Highly unlikely but it's not my creation. My apologies. My advice is that the people who answer questions here have a LOT, as in known names in this industry- experience. The answer people get here might not be the one they want to hear but very rarely is it wrong. The the OP, just for reference..this is the site of 42 blades.
The guy who answered isn't some stumblebum, the people here are literally "the industry".
