Great thing you are doing Dave and whoever anonymous is as well.

Not trying to steal any of Mr. Brown's thunder of his generous offer (and Mr. Anonymous), but I'd just like to tell each of you who have served a huge Thank You from us who couldn't for many reasons. Y'all are the greatest.

Fire fighter and Ranger. I am crouching on the end with a saw. And kneeling in the middle with the Mt. Taylor hotshots, my crew.

I just wanted to jump on here and say a couple of things to those who have or are serving. First, thank you. This is something that should have been said long, LONG before it became … fashionable … to do so. I have worked closely with some of you the "collective you" for over 27 years now. You are, with very few exceptions (unfortunately, there are always exceptions) the very best this country has to offer, period. You may be one of these that thinks you deserve no special attention, or don't want special attention, that you are just doing your job. Well, yeah, you might be just don't your job. And you might be one of the best that just doesn't want special recognition, you just want to do your job. But by golly, if you didn't just "do your job," there are untold numbers of people that would suffer. And just doing your job, some of you are making tremendous sacrifices, either by time with your family, or never having time to yourself, or standing duty hours that no one else ever has or could hope to understand. There are intangible rewards for what you do, but I know that the most rewards for what you do are just that, intangible. This is something tangible, albeit so small in comparison with some of the sacrifices that you have made. Whether you want to stand up and be counted in this giveaway or not, I would urge you to. You might not think you deserve it (you do). You might not want the recognition (but it is recognition you really should have). It is (not belittling the generosity of "Anonymous" or of Mister Brown) a fairly small thing in comparison to your service.

Firefighter here and this is my office 🚒

Cool give away! I'd take one for a Bradford G3

Veteran, Career Firefighter, and EMT.

Can it be for a knife that we haven't received yet? Don't have any in that size range. Waiting on the Fat back Defender.

Also, it is extremely generous of you to offer this opportunity. Thank you for thinking of us. The thought is truly what counts.

Okay Dave, I'll jump in, but on one condition... if selected, I can get a simple black horizontal taco sheath made for my stepson's Proto Boss Street (He's deployed overseas in the Navy right now).

Here's his knife (He thinks he's buying it from me when he gets home. He doesn't know he's already earned it and it's already his)...(The one on the far left)

Policy won't allow us to post uniform or vehicle pics on social media, but here are a few pics of my patrol area throughout the year. After transferring from a local SO, I can honestly say I have THE BEST law enforcement job in the state!!! (sorry, I may have posted most of these before, but it's what I have handy)...

Summer (taken from my office window)

Fall

Winter

Spring (My wife and I got married here... right there on that little pier)

...and one more from the air during "harvest" season

Thank You All who support us and for the generosity of folks like the donor, Dave, Jerry and a ton of others in the "knife/blade" community who do so much for those in uniform.

I know I say a LOT of goofy stuff here on the Busse Forum (especially in the B8 thread...it's my off duty playground/retreat), but when it comes to this topic, I sincerely mean it when I say...

THANK YOU!!!

When I came home from Iraq in 2003 (A co 6th ESB 4th MAR DIV) a great friend of my father told me: "Be proud that you served, but don't make a living out of it". He was a Marine in Vietnam in 1968. What he meant was don't hide that you served, but at the same time, don't be somebody that feels like the country owes them. (The latter being an idea probably more common in draftees.) Not really sure where I'm going with this, but it was a comment from a fellow Vet that stuck with me. That being said, as much as I'd like a sheath for my Axe Hammer CG, I'm not active duty or a first responder so I don't qualify. I just wanted to put in my 2 cents, and say this is way cool of Mr. Anonymous & Mr. Brown. Veterans should be able to accept things from time to time without feeling like they have their hand out. It's nice to see the public view of Veterans has changed since 1968.

Dave, obviously not an entry, because I'm too pretty for military, active duty, reserve, police, fire, etc, etc, etc (and by too pretty, I mean fat and ugly).

But thanks for doing the giveaway. And thanks to the mysterious don or.

You may not remember, Dave, buy my cousin deployed twice, and he took the Boss Jack and your tan Kydex sheath with him. It was a donated knife, and your generously donated sheath!

Thanks again!

My department policy doesn't allow posting online pictures of vehicles or uniforms, but the clue to my profession is in my forum name ; ). Thanks much for the chance! Would love a sheath for my TGLB!

***Up-date***

we have now been bumped up to 10 sheaths to give away

for Busse and kin knives I have in house please.

up-dated list, keep them coming in.

The only thing more amazing than Mr Browns generosity, is the amount of people who haven't followed his instructions :D
Very cool of you Dave, and a big thanks to all Vets/LEO/First responders

I'm none of the above. Just a Union Journeyman Power Lineman keeping those lights on for everyone in Washington DC and surrounding areas. Such a dangerous and forgotten trade. We sure are needed when the power goes out though. Thank you to all who serve our country....here and abroad!

OK, so this is fresh from my most recent field problem (just got back today). I have my SYCKO 1311 which put the full-size pioneer axes the Army issues with all vehicles to shame. I was OPFOR (Opposing Forces) so I had a little bit of fun and excess ammo. Please forgive the MILES gear and BFA on the rifle lol

If chosen,a sheath for my Custom Shop Rodent 6 with Harpoon tip would be nice. I have attached a picture below.

Not an entry, I have already won one of your sheaths, but here is a picture of it! Thanks for a great giveaway to you and to the anonymous donors, these are great sheaths.

Right before a two-week MGS/Stryker gunnery exercise a few years ago

of those 16 entrants only 5 have listed the knives they need a sheath for and that fit in the give away parameters ???? :)

Since I don't currently have a knife in need of pants I'd like to let my spot go to someone in need of a sheath at the moment!!! Thanks again for the chance!
