I was in the B&M store the other day to pick up a para-military 2 and much to my surprise there was a Military in the case. This is unusual as my local B&M usually doesn't carry the larger folders, as the knife laws in my wonderful State aren't friendly. The G10 side was face up - so I exclaimed that I was a little surprised and asked if they were going to start carrying it as a regular spyderco model. You can imagine my surprise when I found out that it was one from the exclusive run of the framelock M4 Military model with G10 and titanium scales - NIB.

Well of course I had to pick this one up - I was in the same store a few weeks prior and passed on the carbon fiber S90V paramilitary 2 and still kick myself for not picking that one up.

Well - you can definately call this one an impulse buy - there's no way this one would have hung around long.

Not sure at this point if I'm going to use it or sell it - I was hoping someone out there had one and was using it and can speak to it's performance and experiences.

I use mine for sure; it's awesome. Haven't sharpened it yet, because it's still razor sharp

NICE find!!!

Lucky you! :D Use it Use it Use it Use it ;)

I have one and use it. I like how M4 takes a nice patina.

I have 2 (bought them on the exchange) and used both right away so the ugly temptation of selling them wouldn't be there. :) Still use them and always will!

It's my EDC, so I use it every day. The steel is awesome, and the framelock works perfectly. The tip down carry is especially nice because I use the Spyderco flip to open it. I used it to start a fire last night. (I carry a firestarter on my keychain.) I cannot find a better EDC.

This is the kind of feedback I guess I expected to hear - it's been a while since I had a Military, and the M4 steel seems to be putting up some impressive results from what I have read.

Spyderco appears tho have done a really nice job with the framelock.

It's been my main EDC since I've received it. Pretty much can't kick it out of my pocket. absolutely love it. also the staining is much lighter and easier to avoid than most other carbon steels I've used. Though mine has its fair share of lovespots.

This was before it was really stained up.

probably the best military out there, with it's tough as nails steel and beefy frame lock. I use mine all the time, especially for food prep!

If I had one, I would use it. I missed out on this one. :(

I feel the same about the CF S90V version. :grumpy:

I do love the M4 though. It slid my sebbie to the left pocket and they are fighting for main pocket time. (this is a long and grueling battle btw, lasting over a month and still goin) Use it!

I don't have that one either...

I do have the CPm-S90V Para2 though, and I have the Gayle Bradley so all is not lost. I really enjoy using those 2 knives more than any others, aside from teh XHP Manix2.

Had one, used it, loved it, and sold it.

Really liked this one and may regret it later, but as of late I've been prefering the lighter CF s30v and BG42 variants of the Millie.

sigh....I missed the CF para 2 as well, BUT I do have a Gayle Bradley and really like it. One of the best production folders for the money IMHO.

I hear what you're sayin'. My only other version is the old 440v with g10 I recently snagged here on the forums but there is definitely a difference. Cant wait to get my hands on some CF variations.

Nice score man......in what part of Maryland do you live?

Interesting that a B&M store had it considering it was a Knifeworks exclusive...

Either way, nice score its a great knife and a keeper for sure.

I was thinking the same, but perhaps the owner is a CC subscriber.

Yeah...hard to choose between those two Military versions.

I think it was a trade - he does that sometimes - someone must have had their eye on one of his other models.

It was mint new in box. I even wonder if it was another BF member who traded - several know about the store and frequent it. I wonder if they traded it for the CF Paramilitary in S90V he had in the display case.

He doesn't carry the Military model any more as the 4" blade length is a no-no here.

I'm gonna post some pics tonite - I should know better after 1200 posts - "pics or it didn't happen".
