Military Marketing

There is only one "military" that I am aware of that prefers knives for "deanimation" activities... and they like to video tape their activities and post them on the internet.
 
I thought that a knife was a tool that can be used as a weapon?
A hammer may drive nails but can also be used for a defensive
purpose.
