It had black coating and the primary grind did not go so high.

Otherwise, it looked pretty much like it is now.

I feel humbled by these knives. I have nothing like those. Gotta say this thread has more and cooler pics per post than any I can remember. Thanks for sharing. I hope I can find a way to acquire some similar steel.
