I am a dedicated minimalist, and after I sell an extra knife, I will have ONE fixed blade, along with a saw and a hatchet...point being, from my philosophy, I need one fixed blade, with me pretty much all the time, no more. My knife collection has expanded and shrank back over the years, as I experiment with what I need, but one constant exists, for 8 to 9 years, if memory serves: A Busse has been my one essential fixed blade. Never a problem with one of them, including ones that I have sold, albeit with regret, consistent with my philosophy. Will I try more? Yes, I am salivating for a Steel Heart, and I may add a Randall #1 someday, but the Busse I have remains...
...because (1) it, and all the Busse blades, have always worked and never failed me. Ever. (2) I call the shop, I get a person who treats me with respect and gives me data that has never been wrong. Never.
Does Jerry manipulate the market to a bit, in that he keeps supply lower than demand at times? I don't know. I do know that suppliers of all kind of goods risk quality to meet demand and maximize profit. Never seen that with this product. Never. I know that folks actually using the knives in combat, even if disposed to respond, may lack opportunity to do so and have better things to do.
Why the inquiry? From a logical viewpoint, even considering the disclaimer regarding offense, a plain reading discerns a glove in the sand (pardon the unitentional pun re: desert warfare): "If X number of responses in form of pictures aren't provided, then Busse's allegations are severely suspect." How many photos would satisfy the inquiry? Further, although the party has a right to express his concerns regarding veracity, the accepted approach is that if you are challenging one's veracity, especially one with an established track record, then bring forth proof. The challenged party, and his record, needs no defense otherwise. If such was not the meaning of the original post, then I submit that the language was, at best, unfortunate.
