Military, plain CMP440V How Good? Brittle?

Thanks for clarifying. When you said "toothy" edge, I thought you meant a rough edge -- which I know some people prefer.

It is a bit... stiff however

I have stripped it, silocone greased it and put some Tuf Glide and MST cloth on it. Hopefully that and loosening the pivot slightly will work!

I think it is the retention of the stud on the blade. The ball bearing indent. It locks closed with quite a click! This makes it safer but harder to open smoothly. Any imput on this?

Brave one, you did not experience difficulties in properly adjusting that eccentric pivot pin thin-a-ma-jing??

The folks at Spyderco stated that a special tool is used to adjust it just right before final assembly/ reassembly.

I have found a few of my Militarys to be a bit "rough" feeling at first as well. But after a few weeks of continuous use and periodic air blasting/ lubing, their actions have become quite smooth. To a point where the blade literally drops when the liner is activated while holding the knife with its edge facing horizontal to the ground! And lockup is still on the money.

The tight snap on the ball bearing detent is a plus IME. Enjoy.
