The bad news I lost my precious! CF BG42 military in the gym two months ago. Last weekend I managed to lose my beloved CF S90v military in the woods.:mad:

I tried to buy a new one but could not find any accept ebay where some maniac outbid me with $50 bucks paying almost $290.

Dear Sal,
Is there a new military with S90v (or other sprint run steel) blade on the horizon? I can wait a couple of months but after being spoiled by S90v it is hard to go back to plain Jaine s30v :)

Probably not. I'd say check ebay and some of the more obscure online retailers for one. Most of the time the buy it now option is under $230.

I bought my S90V Millie from Davesknifeworld last month for around 220$, check whether he still has some left.

I would start carrying cheaper knives. Maybe the standard issue Millie?
You lost two great ones. What's to stop from losing the third? Hope you can find them somehow.

I don't think I'll have any trouble finding mine:

You lose knives? I believe you're a candidate for the Orange Military model.

That's one of the reasons why I chose the orange over the CF versions. I lost count of how many times I had to stop everything and everyone, and form a search party for my black and fg handled folders on a recent camping trip. I should have it by next week! As it turns out, some vendors (or at least one that I know of) are getting from Spyderco a bonus shipment of the orange Military. Bad for collector's value, good for me!

BG42s are so hard to come by, mind saying what section of what woods you were in? :D And no, i dont think and s90v will be coming out any time soon.

Orange Mils are a lot easier to see out in the woods! I carry my knives out in the woods in a belt sheath, because branches catch on the clip and pull them out my pocket. Not as fast to get to but it beats losing them.

Wait a minute here..... Jill uses knives??

:p:D Just messing.

I've never found that they pull knives out of my pocket, though I have had a clip snag and put a 2' scratch into a solid oak table... Got my ass chewed for that. :grumpy:

We test steels often, and the Military is our functional mule for these steels.

We're playing with another steel in the CPM-S90V / ZDP-189 range. A Millie is probably a good test.

A Millie in ZDP would be good. Wonder what that "new" steel could be...S35VN, maybe? Or S110V?
On a related topic I have a question: is the Ti Millie a prelude to all future Military sprint runs, or are we going to see sprint runs with CF scales again?

Does this mean we should expect a Millie with a new "super steel" soon? :D

You mean over the 600 that Spyderco said the run was limited too?

I don't think so, I think he means that they did two "runs" that totaled 600. First run was 400 or so, and the last 200 are getting shipped out.

That's correct, Josh. But I assume only Spyderco's "flagship" dealers will get a second batch (as there aren't a whole lot left). The dealer I was referring to--which is without a doubt Canada's highest volume Spyderco vendor--is getting only 30 in this last round.

Military sprint runs are not intended to be collector knives, so why not extend the production of the Orange Millie, I have one but would like one more!

I would like to thank everybody for the useful suggestions. Orange millie is on the way. Lets hope it will not join its older brothers soon. However, with my absent mindedness (yesterday I forgot my wallet in the laundry - it was returned today senza 10 bucks but all CC were still there) nothing is guaranteed :)

Since somebody asked. I lost the 2 millies the following way:

- BG42 in the gym when doing ground exercises. I realized that it has fallen from my pocket just before the gym was closed. I was wearing a new shorts without zip - a fatal mistake! I made pretty sure that I am not loosing anything with them d@mned shorts by tearing 'em apart after that. Anyway, the next day I went early to the gym but somebody apparently was there earlier than me

- S90v last week in Schenandoach while trail running - Cedar Run trail (Hawksbill parking lot to Whiteoak parking and back), please see attached map. The millie cut, again!, a whole in my pocket. However, unlike in the city the knife did not make any noise when falling, thus I found that I am unarmed only when I was home...

Today I went back and tried, needles to say, in vain to find the millie. If you guys find it, keep it ;)
