Military vs. Kopa + Endura

Gentlemen, I need some help deciding. I'm rewarding myself by returning to the knife world once again.

Military
I never really desired one until I noticed it came in BG-42. My Buck 110 is BG-42 and I'm awestruck by that steel. I don't like D2 all that much (Benchmade's fault). Also, arguably, the flagship of Spyderco.

Kopa + Endura
I love Black Quince on knives and the style of the Kopa. As for the Endura, how can I not have one?

Now, the logical answer is to buy all three :), but I don't have the funds at the moment. As such, the next question is what I'd be using it for.

Honestly, it's just for light EDC and buying a knife (damn addiction). I hardly use most of my knives and just enjoy having them. At the moment, I'm just a college student and will spend the rest of my life in an office, hence the draw of the beautiful Kopa and I assume the Military doesn't rate too high on the sheeple scale.

Thoughts?

Military=
1 knife.

Kopa+Endura=2 knives.

3=insufficient funds.

Hmm...2 is twice as much fun!

Honestly, You can't go wrong however the numbers add up.

Seems to me you want the BG-42 Milli. more so id go for that.

If your going to be stuck in an office for the rest of your life  i reccomend a career change first but then the CF/ZDP Caly3, the copa is also nice but the Caly is spot on

Endura + kopa. You'll own a classic (Endura) and have a gentlemen's knife (kopa). You'll be able to decide if you really prefer large knives, or if the kopa's refined nature is more towards your liking.

You can't get that with just the purchase of the Military, even though it is a great knife.

the easiest solution to the problem of associating with non-knife people is to grow bigger hands. that way even large knives won't appear as menacing, and you can carry anything you want. I recommend that you begin at once.

Brilliant! I must start at once.

I don't own any Kopas, have only the white Endura, but I am considering getting an extra BG-42 Millie

There is only 600 maximum qunice Kopas in the world and at least twice as many BG-42 Milis.

You have a better chance in the future of obtaining the more numerous Military. On that line of thought you would get the Kopa now.

I have all 3 knives and at any one time will have 2 of what you mention there. 1 of them is the Kopa :)

I lean more towards the Delica + Kopa in fact. Sometimes Millie + Kopa. If you are going out and about the Milliw is a great knife if you really need the extra length. Kopa for sheeple friendliness. However if you don't really need a longer blade the Kopa alone should get you through most office based problems. But as someone already said....have you thought of the Caly 3.

Otherwise, if all else fails get 'em all or get any. You can't lose.

+1
Also, considering your carrier Kopa makes a lot of sense.
One of my EDCs is Kopa Coco, it cannot cut sandwich on halves, but does everything else I need. Fortunately, I carry R2 or Persian as well.

I'd get the BG42 while you still can. It's definitely one of the best millies made. If you have a BG42 Buck already then it's probably from the custom shop and down on the sheeple complaint scale as they typically are very good looking, traditional knives.

Yes, you should have an Endura. Everybody should.

It's too bad you couldn't get both. Joe

Another vote here for the BG-42 Millie. It is a fantastic knife and is my hands-down favorite knife. The BG-42 is an awesome steel that takes and holds an ultra sharp edge better than anything else I have in D2, S30V or VG-10. The CF handles make it really lightweight as well.

Have fun with your decision!

+1 on the Millie, its an exceptional knife! The only problem is you might frighten the non-knife people with its size.

I just purchased my second because I like the Knife so much, soon the BG-42 Military will be all gone because it is a sprint run, get it while you can.

Well, the Kopa+endura is the more practical decision. You would have two high quality folders, one for random office stuff/ dress up, and the endura for harder tasks. However, neither knife is super exciting (endura wave a different story however.)

On the other hand the military is a far more luxurious knife to use. With is huge, swelling, super comfy handle, and it's massive, deep, bellied, laser slicing blade, it's a real treat. I liken EDCing one to commuting in a Ferrari- some people love it, some people are appalled, you might get some unwanted police attention, but it just feels so damn good. I've got D2 that I'm extremely happy with- but I'm still saving up for the Ferrari.

Yeah, I used Buck's build-a-knife deal and got a nice 110 with a jigged waterbuffalo handle and nickel bolsters.

Nice analogy, Mark :)

Hmm...I've never really looked at the Caly3...I must research now.

Looking at the above, it seems like the popular opinion is split amongst two wonderful limited knives. Because let's face it, the VG-10 Endura isn't going anywhere for a long time.

At the moment, the Mili has the edge (pun intended). I'll have to check out the Caly3 though...

Does anyone have a pic comparing the Mili and/or Caly3 to a Delica?

Nevermind, I just found one...the Caly is certainly growing on me...
