Militec-1

Hey guys, I just bought some Militec-1 to lubricate my knives. I've been searching the forums here and I see that it is recommended that you heat the joints before you use Militec-1. Is this really necessary? Does it really make a difference? If it does, how hot do I need to get the joints? Thanks again.

Go to their website and follow the instructions. Do not heat it up to where it is too hot to touch, this could run a chance of ruining the temper.

I just use a hair dryer and hold the knife in my hand. That way it's not going to get too hot 'cause I wouldn't be able to hold it. Ruining the temper won't happen if it's not burning your hand.
