Milkweed,Bull Thistle, and Catail Tinder

While on a 2 night 3 day trip with a few friends from this forum we decided to go forage for a couple of minutes and came back with a few good natural tinders.

Anyone tried to spark some crushed up pine cone? They light easily with a lighter so I'm wondering how hard it would be to get one to take a spark.

I have never tried it , bu it might work. I think it would depend on how much resin was in it.
