I seldom forge a knife to shape after I make up a billet of damascus, it tends to distort the pattern so I use stock removal for the first knives from that piece. However I have to draw out and shape a knife at the forge when I get to that small piece of damascus left at the end. This gives me some interesting patterns like on this little knife.
