Miller brothers vs Busse

I own the MBB-2 tactical short sword, I own mutiple Busse and Busse-kin including the Busse AK-47 short sword. Do I think Busse makes a great product? Yes. Great Steel? Yes. But I will tell you that the MBB-2 is a serious sword. I think it is made very well. solid construction, sharp as shit!. It would give the Busse Gladius a run for the money! and they are priced very similarly. Well done MMB..If Miller Bros are making other blades like the MBB-2, then they are a contender for hard use knives. I also like the designs of the m-10 and m-19. Have no fear buying from them. you won't be disappointed.

I will say that I think they should use some different steels for their smaller blades, since they are custom made, offer a few different options. And the one thing I love about Busse is that they have life time warranties. If i am going to spend a lot of money on an indestructible knife, it better have a guarantee.

I will leave you to your discusion, but how is selling things on ebay shady? If I have a custom model, or something that is not standard, I sometimes list it on ebay.
Also keep in mind that our prices reflect a COMPLETELY handmade knife. No CNC or computer controlled surface grinders. And also a handmade kydex sheath.

Since, as one of the moderating members for the Busse forum who had to read and answer the many PM's sent to me over this very issue, I'll answer your question.

Selling things on eBay isn't shady. However, how they are listed may be. I don't know if you are "waxer1012" over there, but this person for months manipulated the search & browse function to draw unfair attention to his listings by including the word "BUSSE" (capitalized) in his MBB auction titles when it was very obvious that the knife listed was yours and not a Busse. That is known as keyword spamming and is against eBay listing rules. I've noticed recently that this seller has stopped doing that...might have something to do with all those listings being reported many times... However, now and instead, he is listing a Scrap Yard knife paired with a MBB knife. While I don't see this as against eBay's rules, again he is using the word "BUSSE" (again in caps) in his title. It is not a Busse knife, it is a Scrap Yard knife...so again, it does lend to the appearance of someone looking to circumvent the rules to use another maker's name to forward his brand based on the previous actions with the keyword spamming, IMO.

As a business owner, I can sympathize with trying to get your name out there, though I do feel that it is bad business to do it on someone else coattails. However, we do not know for sure if it was them or not. Hopefully not.

Jaxx, I don't go on eBay very much, and didn't know about that. "BUSSE" Scrapyard with a MMB. Hmmm.
I wonder if MBB is waxer1012 ?

True. However, I think that we can agree that with a fair amount listed from October forward, and using not just Busse, but the Swamp Rat, Scrap Yard, & Strider names in past listing titles that regardless of whoever the seller may be, he isn't really doing the brothers Miller any favors by listing their knives this way.

I knew exactly what he meant when he said, shady ebay practices. There was a period of several months that his knives were frequently being listed with Busse in the title. I was never sure if it was them or not either, but I noticed it, and didn't much care for it. It def isn't helping their business; kind of unfortunate if it isnt them posting...

With that information, I can now understand previous postings regarding "shady practices." I think you will find Waxer1012 is indeed one of the Miller Brothers.....that was who I purchased my MBB knife from on Ebay. By the way....still think MBB makes a great blade regardless of others' opinions regarding their selling practices.

I can almost definitely tell you based on a recent search on ebay that it is in fact one of the Miller Bros listing these. I have pasted his info from the listing and it says I have added some videos and then he goes on to talk about the website.

Sorry for my delay, I haven't seen this thread till today and Jaxx covered the "shady" part just fine. So if you want to get all high mighty and pretend you didn't know what I meant, you do now and I personally would like to hear your reason.

In no way am I disputing they make a tough as hell knife and I appreciate your devotion to customer service .... I'm sure it's a fun tool to own. I just believe you need to ride your own wave of success rather than try to spread your name using someone else's.

Again, as I mentioned elsewhere, I actually look forward to getting a few of your knives. I just think its shady the way you spam your using others. Reminds me an issue we once had here.

When we first started selling our knives on ebay, we hired someone to do it for us, since we didn't have time to do it ourselves. And I admit that there was some word spamming. We were directing our efforts into our website, and were not aware of a problem with what was being listed on ebay, and How it was listed. He was also listing our knives with some of his own collection. I apologize if this was misleading to anyone, It Is not and never was our intention to mislead anyone. This issue was corrected as soon as it was brought to my attention. You will notice that our current listings have ZERO word spamming and Only Our name in the listing. We do not do a lot of sales through ebay, and encourage people to buy direct from our website.
If anyone ever has an issue, or a question about our blades or marketing, please email me at amiller@millerbrosblades.com

I never looked for knives on ebay (surprised that I haven't really) so the only info that I have is what is here but I will say this about Allen at Miller Brothers...he has been very helpful to me. I have sent him a lot of emails (I would say to the P.I.T.A. level really) and he has always replied the same day and has always been VERY polite and informative, giving feedback on my thoughts for possible modifications, and the list goes on. His customer service has been well above top notch.

There is no doubt that I am getting a blade from them...but now it's time to make a choice between two, the M-19 or the M-10...tough choice there. It all comes down to which design would be the best overall blade for my use. Of course I could get both but I don't like sleeping on the couch...lol!!

As an owner of Busse knives as well as many custom knives and cheap knives too(I just like knives), I feel that with Busse you are getting the most consistent and highest quality knife possible in a high production environment. However, with a custom, which appears is what Miller Bros is, you get a one off attention, so you get no less of a knife. Which one is better is a moot point as that is all a matter of design taste by the end user.

Also, I don't see a problem with a knifemaker selling knives on ebay or any other internet system if that is what it takes to stay in business.

Busse makes superb knives, but I've had some very annoying customer service issues with them that have been on-going for the last couple months. The whole experience has been a pretty big let down for me as I was once a huge fan of the brand. I'll skip the details for now since the matter has yet to be closed. I might make a post once the ordeal has ended, if it ever ends...

Don't own any Miller Bros but I've never heard anything negative until this thread, they seem pretty sweet though.

Like I stated before, I don't own a Busse and have never even held one, I don't doubt the quality in any way, but my complaint is that you can only get what they are producing at that time. Yes...you can find one here in the market and obviously ebay, however for what I would want it would be well over a grand, at least from what I have seen. Now for Miller Brothers, I can get exactly what I want, and judging by the videos a very, very reliable knife, I have no doubt that it could surpass my needs, and like I have said already...SUPERB customer support and feedback, which to me speaks volumes.

I'm looking forward to my purchase, if I could make up my damn mind that is...lol. Not trying to highjack the OP, but if anyone has any thoughts on the M-10 vs the M-19 (pros and cons to bough designs) I would love to hear!!

Looks like someone is picking the pepper outta a fly's leftovers, to me. I applaud The Miller Brothers for their efforts!!!
