After putting handles on 5 purchased blades, I completed my first knife from scratch. I did all phases of the knife including hardening and tempering. I call it a small skinner, and it is 7.25 inches long. I used 1095 and cocabolo for the handle. My grinder was a Cootes 8 inch wheel. I practiced grinding on mild steel for about a week. I made the sheath also. Thanks to the many, many fellows on this forum for sharing their knowledge and experience. I could not have done this without your help!

Comments welcome, I have thick skin.

Milt that is great work, thanks for sharing. It is very clean and smooth looking, I like the arch to the whole thing too.

That is a grand knife Milt!!!
Excellent lines and it looks like a well balanced hunter!
You should be proud of it and hang onto it!
Ten years down the road you'll pull it out of a drawer and think, " Man, that's real nice for my first knife!! " !
