What do you guys think of these bowie's for survival blades
Ive orderd the deep woods bowie as my primary and I always have
my SAK.What do you guys think.

Also when I get the deep woods I will give a full rundown.
It will be building a shelter cleaning fish, rabbits and other poor critters that get eaten.I have a good feeling its going to work great.
Also John who helps Ted on his web page and takeing orders is a wonderful help who has answerd all Emails I have sent. Thanks again

Welcome to Bladeforums!

They do make good-looking knives. I'm looking forward to your review.

Cool, probably more practical. I want to pick up the survival bowie as soon as finances allow-- I've been without a new knife purchase since April:( -- new house and all:).

isnt ted frizzle located in west fork,AR?
anyone have contact info?
i would like to meet him.

Hey Feather, welcome to BFC. I have a White River Bowie on order from Ted. They promised delivery by Christmas. His knives promise to be basic, no frills, fully functional tools. I hear they are all well made. Did you see the article in the September Tactical Knives issue on Ted? He can make some big ole knives.

Did you get one with a guard on it? I did.

Hi Kodiak thanks for the welcome im glad to be here.Nah I didnt get to see the artcle wish I had.Teds knives just look like there hard working tools.Mine will be put to the test.
By the way what made you choose the white river bowie, just wondering cause it was hard to choose for me.There was just something about the deep woods bowie it just kept calling my name.lol

Hi Feather,
I got the White River bowie because I wanted a sharpened clip with an accentuated clip point but it was a hard decision to make. :)

So many knives...so little money.

I got a MMHW dagger recently. It has a brass double guard and ten inch blade. My only complaint, and it's one I have with most knives, is that the guard isn't wide enough for my tastes. But I just happen to like wide guards, and I suspect most others would be satisfied with the one on Ted's dagger.
Otherwise, the blade is a very good size and the handle is excellent. I don't think I could have found a better dagger anywhere.
I also have a MMHW integral guard fighter, which I bought second hand at a gun show. It is one solid knife - built like a tank. This one has a blade of around 6 1/2 inches. I have not seen this particular model advertised on John Gonzales website.
I am looking forward to the review of the bowie. I hope to get a MMHW bowie myself some day.

Mr. Beck- Glad you like the dagger! It is one cool looking blade. I think your mini IGF is a very rare item. Don't let it out of your site (especially if I'm around!) :).

Greg- I just spoke with Ted and you will definitely be getting your knife by Christmas. Probably within a week, actually.

Maurice- yep, Ted is in West Fork, but way out in the boonies. If you give him a call, he'd probably be delighted to show you around his shop. Email me for his number.

Featherstone- don't you worry, you're going to have a blast with that knife. What is your name? I think your bowie will also be going out very soon (in a few days).

Hasta la Bamba,

Hi John its me Ryan Crowe, god I hope I get that deep woods in time im sweating it,Do not want to take that trip with a KABAR

Going out tomorrow, Ryan. Mail has been super slow (one of my recent Priority Mails took 9 days!), but you should get it in plenty of time. Later!
