Hello Sierra912,
I recently traded off a MMHW short sword, called a "Long Knife". It had a 16 inch blade, which was 2 1/2 inches wide.
The sword was very well made, but it was also very heavy. I do not know the weight because the weight is not listed (last I checked) on the MMHW website. However, it felt much heavier than a 20 inch bladed sword I own. I think the high weight is due to the 2 1/2 inch width of the blade.
You might want to email Mr. Frizzell or Mr. Gonzales and ask the weight, unless you don't mind a heavy blade. I am small statured and it was too much for me. I ended up trading it for a Smith and Wesson M1917 .45 revolver, which I think was a good trade since those pistols are highly sought after collectors' items. The man who I traded the sword to was a huge fellow - one of the biggest guys I have ever seen. He probably didn't think it was so heavy.
