Miner's axe for a Kindling axe ... and what else?

Interesting in the whole debate about curved handles being ergonomically superior, that a factory-made miner's axe (as depicted a few posts earlier) features a straight. IMO this is because the poll gets used more so than the blade, but then again what did rafting axes (also designed for routine poll use) feature in the way of handles?

Nice! And (not unexpectedly) endowed with a straight stick. I'm gonna find one of these someday but they must have been a well kept secret, or they were much more expensive.
