This is a bolo inspired camp pattern knife.

OAL: 11.25 inches
Blade: 6.5 inches
Grip, straight line from bottom of dropped edge to rear bottom "corner" of the butt - 4 5/8 inches

Blade is .120 (about 1/8) thick 15N20 steel. Full quench and temper with a final differential temper. Fileworked along the spine. The blade is amodified bolo style and, while not terribly long, will chop well.

Grind is a convex taper edge, a "scandivex" grind, maintainable easily with a strop.

Blade is rough forge finished, with a solid steel wool rubbing. Exposed tang surfaces are blue to match.

Scales are ipe, with stainless pins and lanyard tube. Wood is finished with a linseed oil soak cycle.

Sheath is an Expedition style, the belt hanger is fully adjustable and removable for strap mounting. MOLLE clips will fit through the horizontal straps. Koyote Girl made.

Asking $185, $9 insured usps priority shipping in the US- paypal, money orders, checks all work. Foreign shipping is a bit higher.

Thanks for checking it out-

Christof, that looks a lot like a mini version of the USMC Hospital Corpsman's knife, a knife I've loved since I was a kid.

You did a really good job on that, and if I had the money, I'd take it off your hands. I'm too poor at the moment though.

Looks good.

I have one of those :D It's not a direct, intentional influence, but the overall pattern ot he US military bolos over time definitely is!

I didn't mean to imply that it's a direct copy, by any means — the differences are obvious — just that I could see the influence.

Actually, I like the original so much that I did a redesign of it myself a month or so ago, but I don't think it's going to be produced (It's floating around over on the Becker forum somewhere). The one I did is full size.

One of the things I like about yours is that it's a mini version. It's short, but I would bet that the weight distribution on it would be great. Is it ground on both sides, or is it a chisel grind?

As I said, I like it.

Oh, - I know. No offenses or anything. I really do like the whole period of US bolos, from the corspman knife back to the 1897 model. Some really good ideas in there, especially if you don't have the QC issues that plagued some of the contracts!

Yeah, I like a lot of them, too. A couple of them were really unique.

One thing you don't have to worry about is quality control issues, since you control it from start to finish, and I've never seen you turn out a bad knife.

I envy that you can actually make the knife yourself, and control every aspect. If I design something, it's out of my hands, and up to the manufacturer from there on out.

HOLY CRAP!!!!!!!!! that is just awesomeness...i dont know what i like better now...that camp bolo the seaxs or the dirks!!! :)

just when i thought i didnt want any more knives....

You guys gave forced my hand :)
