So I just bought a new satin Mini commander, and for some reason the the blade wiggles forward and back and makes a clicking sounds, the linger wiggles left to right when you wiggle it with a little bit of pressure... what the hell is this???

Sounds like the pivot screw is loose or you may have just gotten one that needs some work yet. If you can't fix it by adjusting the flat head screw contact Emerson tomorrow and send it back.

Yeah its tight, I even tightened it untill you couldn't open or close the blade and it's still doing it ?

Somethings not right. Maybe a washer but if it is brand spankin' new you have the option of returning it to the dealer also and letting them mess with the matter of getting it replaced..

Damn, I was hoping I wouldn't have to send it off, don't really have the funds for that. I don't understand why it started doing this all of a sudden

It cost me like $6 to send it to Emerson. You don't have $6? Since it's a new knife they won't charge you for return shipping.

Not right now man. Hard times. I figured out its the liner lock, when putting a little pressure on the back of the blade the liner jumps to the left if your looking straight at it. then it jumps to the right when you let go. Makes a clicking sounds to when you are doing it. My other emerson doesn't do this

That defo should not be happening, your only options for that one are
to send it back to the dealer you got it from or to EKI for a fix up.

Hope you get it sorted

The dealer is about 5 hours from me, Got it on a trip over there. I'd rather sent it off to EKI. Hopefully they can take care of the problem. In somewhat of a short time. I saw on the EK website that to get a repair You must ship the knife plus 14$???

if its a new knife they will return your check with the knife.

Well damn, I don't have the money to send it off right now. Kind of ridiculous how they want you to add 14$, I just spent 140$ on the knife less than 3 months ago. I would except better warranty cover than that for a knife with this kinda price. And the fact that the liner messed up and wiggles around. Not very happy.

what would you have them do fly to florida to fix your knife lol??

i mean come on you will have to ship the thing to the maker for repair on your dime on any knife i am aware of, and pay return shipping too on more than a few, if they will repair free and ship back on there dime ya just cant expect a lot more than that imho.

and you cannot name any brand, production or custom, which has -0- warranty problems, its not possible on even $700 and up stuff, any folder made can have lock issues, any of them, i have had lock probs myself with frame, liner, rolling, compression, lockbacks, i have even heard of axis locks having a issue or 2.

i know what ya are talking about, i feel ya, if ya are short on $$ it sucks, but ya cant blame EKI for that, imho they will jump thru there butts to take care of folks on warranty issues as well as anyone around, in any trade as a matter of fact.

I'v go to say the cost of postage, however much it may be, has absolutly nothing to do with warranty in any way shape or form.
You just cant expect EKI to cover postage for every knife that "needs" looked at.

As already mentioned Emerson will probably send your money back with the knife and will defo do more than most to see you right.

Heck, if its that big a deal I'll give you the 6 bucks to get it there my self

I agree with Haze. Six bucks, a few cups of normal coffee, a few softdrinks, 1 Sarbucks coffee, or a few drinks in a bar. No big deal. You can either send the knife in, or put up with it the way it is. Your choice.

Um, I'm aware I have to ship it off. But that doesn't change the fact the knife has failed. Completely. And it shouldn't being that It hasn't even barely been used. Its just very dissapointing.

I totally understand the way you feel. Mine needed a little adjusting of the pivot when I first got it. The detent wasn't working right either. After taking it down completely, and thoroughly cleaning it with mild soap and warm water, It finally started to work properly. Hope you are able to resolve the issue wiith yours.:)

Well, it sucks but this stuff happens. I bought a $400 Sebenza knife and there was a problem with the lock. The only option I had was to ship it to CRK to fix it. They did it in less than a week and sent it back without charging shipping. Life sucks but whining about it does nothing. Save up some cash and send it in, they will happily fix it and you'll have a good as new knife.
