That may not be so bad. At least you are getting one and you never know when the next run will be made at Emerson. Seems like they are due for another run of the plain edge mini CQC-15 but with so many models it's difficult to say what they will be cranking out.

I'm just glad I got one.I couldn't find any in stock anywhere.I just hope the blade's centered & the lockup's OK.It's not like I can exchange it.

You can't put a price on happines. :p:thumbup:

An off centered blade is actually an easy fix and I doubt there will be lock up problems, even if there seems to be a few wee issues at first the break in period will pretty much always iron them out.

It just came in the mail today!I immediately cut myself(accidentally),like with every Emerson I've ever gotten :o:D

The blade's off-centered :(:foot:....oh well no big deal

The lock's a little sticky, just needs some breaking in.

I'll try & get some pics up today or tomorrow.

The blade can be centered by tweeking the detents, if you don't know how or just want some advice just drop me a PM.

I usually have some sort of Emerson in bits infront of me most days so pics are not a problem. :p:thumbup:

It's weird about the centered blade. It was centered when I took it out of the box.The action was a little stiff,so I loosened the pivot about a 1/4 turn, then it moved all the way to the non-locking side.

As far as the cutting myself,I swear these Emersons are possessed by an ingrained thirst for blood!:o:D.No biggy, just a little papercut.Should be OK now, since she's had a taste of blood.:p :D

Thanks Haze.I don't understand "tweeking the detents".I'll shoot you a PM later on.I gotta start getting ready for work right now.

I've been carrying it since I got it.

Here's a quick pic

Perfection!!!!!!! As long as the blade doesn't rub the liners when you open and close it I wouldn't worry much about it at all.

Hey,I just tightened the pivot back the way it was & the blade's perfectly centered again.I don't want people to think Emerson's letting uncentered blades through QC.
I shot some Tuf-Glide in the action & it's pretty smooth & fast opening now. Also did the pencil trick on the sticky lock.It worked out well.

:)I'm very happy with this knife!

Thanks again for all your help Bimmer1 & Haze:thumbup::cool:

Perfect centering doesnt affect the function. I think all production companies let them through the cracks.

On the top mini cqc15 why does the G-10 appear to have for a lack of better wording a "cross hatched" pattern on the G-10?

That is an illusion created somewhat by lighting. Emerson did use a different texture G-10 on the plain edge version when compared to the partially serrated version. The texture on the partially serrated version is coarse.

Curious if anyone has the mini and full size 15... which they preferred?

I wish they would release an HD CQC15.... drool..
