I'm about to send it out for custom scales as the only thing I dislike about stock Emersons are the overly grippy G10 handles.
Not to try to dissuade you from getting custom scales, but the super-grippy G10 on the stock scales is easily remedied by about 30 minutes of casual buffing on an old pair of jeans. I've done this to all my Emersons.
it basically simulates months of pocket wear, leaving the scales pleasingly grippy but not at all pocket-shredding, and unlike sanding it doesn't produce any G10 dust.
Yes The 7-Aw is back in stock stone washedThey were out of stock over the weekend and now are showing in stock again.
I was excited to see the minis back in stock and ordered a mini CQC-7AW last week and got it yesterday. It's the best Emerson in regards to fit and finish I've yet handled -- perfect detent, can be easily flicked open with the thumb, drops about halfway shut, and the lock-up is a smidgen tighter than I like which is perfect for a brand new knife. I'm about to send it out for custom scales as the only thing I dislike about stock Emersons are the overly grippy G10 handles. I've been watching the sales forum for months looking to grab one and was thrilled to get one brand new.
Bought one had a large gouge in the back side of blade from factory scales did not fit properly sent back on my dime with a letter. No response from Emerson only money back minus my $12.75 shipping fees. Very disappointed in the no response and not being reimbursed for shipping on the return. The letter I sent said Att. Mary and detailed the bad quality in the product. I was really pumped about getting this new blade now not so much.
I would too, I noticed Emerson offers a service to remove the wave for $40, I'm waiting for a response from them answering a few questions I have about the service. Does anyone have any experience with this service?I would like a waveless mini 7, that would rock
