I know this is older, but I wanted to comment. First: I am sorry you had a bad experience. I would be frustrated too. I have learned through bad experiences to do a couple of things. If you read their warranty, Emerson spells out what to expect. Secondly, after reading the warranty, I would call them directly. Even if the letter is well crafted, it is likely to get ignored. They deal with tons of customers, and may not have the time to deal with someone who only wants a refund, not a fix. Sometimes a calm call will get a resolution more to your liking.

I hope your bad experiences are few and far in between.
 
This was not a warranty issue this was a POORLY MADE Knife from the factory direct. The Quality Control people were definitely out to Lunch when this one was sent to me. There should be not restocking fee for a poorly made product from this company. I was not charged a restocking fee but had to send back on my dime. It is the principle of the thing. Also when calling to discuss the issues the person on the other end of the phone a male employee had little interest in my disappointment of there product. I have owned several Emerson's New and Used and none had a Quality issue like this one from the factory. This was not purchased from a dealer but direct from Emerson. Waited quite a while for this production run and was really pumped about getting this knife now not so much.
