I used the sharpmaker at 40 degrees and it seems to be the right angle.

As I have mentioned in the recent past, we are finalizing the 2009 line-up, and hope to finish up by mid-Nov. So there is no official word at this time, but as of today I would say yes all the Cyclone's will be discontinued.

Thanks Thomas, I missed that info before. I have two large ones and one mini and I just ordered one mini since it was reduced to $25 at one site. Have they been selling that badly? They are great knives....may have to stock up on a few ....The full size is now $30....I see me ordering a few more for the future....

Ive got 2 larges and a small cyclone on order should be here any day now could I trouble someone for a size comparison picture between the large and the small I am trying to decide which one to keep and which one to give as a Christmas presents. Thanks guys.

I think I forsee one also. Who am I kidding it is only because I want another run of special cyclones.

Save yourself the trouble and your knives the pain and get the sharpmaker/Lansky/Edge Pro, etc...

No personal experience, but the reviews aren't too hot. I won't link directly to the site, but type "Global MinoSharp chowhound.chow.com" into Google without the quotes, and you'll find what I'm talking about.

$48 is seven cents higher than a Sharpmaker; I know which one I'd choose.

Where are you seeing those prices? I find the anodized finish a little slippery, but I might get myself one, if they're about to be discontinued (still hoping for an S30V or composite Cyclone w. G10 handles though).
