Mini Grip opinions

That's a good looking piece of knife. The polished clip really does the trick.

Swapped the plain 555 for a Becker so I'm thinking about breaking out the M4 or S30v, both are NIB and i can't decide which to defile first.
#firstworldproblems :D

I'm sure I'll end up taking your advice and give the Delica a try. I can't ignore all the Spyderco fans and the positive reviews they get. I think I might wait for a bit and go for the PM2. But I'm sold on the Mini Grip. Thanks again for the advice and feedback everyone. Feel free to add more :)

So, you've not tried Spyderco's yet you don't like them? How does that work?

Maybe he just doesn't like the look... To be quite honest, there are quite a few Spydercos I don't like, and I don't have to own one to know this.
I just can't get use to the blade shape on some of them, so my opinion is based solely on aesthetics. It's not just Spyderco, I have the same feeling about many of
Cold Steels knives.
That said, they both make great knives, and there are some models I really like from both companies...

I felt the same way before buying my first Spyderco, a PM2, a few years ago. Function won out over form after using it for a while, however. The knife and many other Spyderco models are just too good to dismiss strictly because of the way they look. While I understand that sentiment, I think a lot of people would be won over if they carried one for a while. The one thing that makes them look a little lopsided, the Spydie hole, is one of the main features that makes them so good.

I was referring to the look of them. I also stated that I think the PM2 looks like an awesome knife and I would love to have one eventually. The delica and endura are the Spydercos that would be in my budget, and I don't like the look of either. Both appear to be pretty thin and that's not something I would like. The manix 2, sage, and native 5 are Spydercos I would like to have, but for those prices I would go for the PM2. So, basically, that's why I would rather have a mini grip. I prefer traditional knives so that's the reason I don't have these staples of the modern blade world.

No offense to Spyderco fans out there. One day I'll get one and I'm sure I'll love it....

You could be right, but aesthetics play a big part in the choices we make, irregardless of the manufacturer... It is the first thing that attracts us to certain knives.
I don't mind the hole, it's the overall blade shape on many of them that doesn't get me excited. It doesn't mean there is anything wrong with them, it's just personal preference. I have a Sage 2 that is a beautiful knife. I like everything about the way it looks, and the workmanship is about as good as it gets. My CF Chaparral was the same way, so it's not all of their knives that don't excite me...

I think the Mini-grips are best carried clipless just dropped into the pocket.
