mini grip vs. ritter mini grip??

The regular 154cm minigrip will suit you just fine I'm sure. Its a damn good blade steel. I used mine to open 40 3-4mm thick zip ties and it still push cut paper after I was done. I was amazed to say the least.
 
Per the original poster's concern about sharpening ...

Get a Spyderco Sharpmaker and you'll be in sharpening heaven. Its a VERY easy-to-use system that provide very sharp results.

Oh, and if you get the Rittergrip, use the 30 degree angle holes rather than the default 40 degree holes -- to keep the original grind angle that the Rittergrip ships with.

Get the Rittergrip!!!
 
I have both and love both.

So much so that I may not but any more folders for a while.

They're just great. Get both and cool your EDC search for a while.
