Mini-Grip vs. Ritter Mini-Grip?

Ok, so after buying my full-sized Grip, it's told me that it would like a little brother, so that it can stay home while the little brother goes to the office with me.

My problem is that I can't decide whether or not to spend the extra $$ on the Ritter mini-rsk over the regular mini-grip. I'm not looking for a special handle color, and I like the thumbstuds. The ritter has the sexy stonewashed blade, and better steel, but it's also almost twice as much. Thoughts? Anyone have both? Any other differences I've failed to consider?

Get the 556 mini. It's half the cost. If you insist on spending double, get a 555 as well. Two 154 blades sharing cutting chores will be cutting long after the Ritter becomes dull.

Going to the office with you....I think you'll be quite happy with the regular mini-grip:)

It really depends on what you're looking for. You could get two Mini-Grips for the price of a single Ritter Mini-Grip.

S30v isn't that much better than 154CM, especially not for double the price.

Though I like the security of steel that can withstand sideloads, I have to hand it to the BM Grip for the money.

Though I only have the BM 556 myself, I've heard several people comment on how the ritter-grip is a much better slicer due to the much higher grind. Otherwise the 556 is an excellent knife and I EDC it very often.

I like the Ritter mini-Grip for office use, since I prefer longer bladed knives for EDC.

I usually carry an M2 version, but did buy a pink S30V recently for conversion with a Wilkins scale set. Carried the pink for a time and beyond some smiles it got no negative comments.

I'll answer a question you're not asking. Get the regular RSK! The full size blade is as good as a flat grind Sebenza! Same for the mini I guess. I have the mini but don't find it nearly as impressive.

One point to consider... a lot of office chores seem to include piercing (opening mail, blister packs, etc.). You may find the somewhat pointier regular mini-G or D2 mini-G to work better for you if you need to puncture a lot of things to start a cut.
