I'm considering getting a Mini Griptilian but there are a lot of choices. Which blade type do you prefer and then do you prefer the stud or hole for an opener.

Personally I'm leaning toward the Sheepsfoot, but I also like the Tanto. That doesn't mean I've ruled out the Drop Point but it's further down the list. Also I think I would rather have the satin or at least unfinished blade.

Tell me what you have/prefer and maybe why if you have a reason.

Thanks

I am on my second Griptilian and both have been drop points. The first one I purchased used and the second one was a gift.

If I was buying new, first choice would be the Ritter Grip and second choice would be the sheepsfoot.

I love my sheep foot mini grip with thumb hole. I have drop point two but I can deploy thumb hole faster for one. My blade is 154cm and it holds a good edge. Makes for a decent slicer on food but blade is a little short. In terms of utility though it can't be beat.

I was very interested in the sheepfoot mini griptilian until I had the opportunity to handle one.
I think the sheepfoot is actually better on a large griptilian than on a mini (as most warncliff IMHO).
When I have the mini grip in hand, the sheepfoot and the hole on such a small blade was "not right" for me.

At the end for what I use my mini grip for (light EDC), the drop point is a better option. That is the kind of blade shape that can do almost everything fine.

At the end I have choosen the doug ritter leaf shape for my mini grip and I am very happy with it.

Shall I take a large griptilian.... it may be a different story.

I have a full sized Griptilian 551 with the drop point and thumb stud and the Mini Griptilian 555HG with the modified sheepsfoot and thumbhole. Both are the standard 154cm satin finish blades with black handles.

I prefer the sheepsfoot blade. The thumbhole works fine for opening it.

Sheepsfoot on standard model has a deep hollow grind. Way outcuts the saber flat grind of the drop point. Note that the G-10 models are all flat ground. Ritter grip has better edge geometry.
