Mini Hammer In

Hello everyone, my first post here. I went to IG's hammer-in today, and let me say, he puts on one hell of a spread! I'm completely new to bladesmithing (though not blacksmithing) and the get-together was an awsome learning experience. IG taught me how and had me weld up my own cable damascus billet. (which will be a nice damascus paperweight untill i'm experienced enough to do it justice in a blade, look for a blade in a few months or so!)

I got to meet a whole lot of great people and watch some of them work. Lary was pumping out some very nice forged 1084 blade on the side while others were forge welding up damascus. Unfortunately I didnt think to bring my camera so I dont have any pictures to share. IG's kale soup was increadible, and his hot relish was wicked good. From someone still living on a 'dorm diet' several years out of college, this was gourmet.

I'm looking forward to meeting more people in the future and to IG's next hammer-in already!

Justin I am glad you enjoyed yourself. The next HI will be in the spring.:o
I will be taking the advise on keeping the HI's small (no more than 15) and just have more of them.:thumbup:
I still can't believe how Rick was eating the Fava Beans. Since he is a Gaylick and not that fond of spicy food.:D :D

Oh, here we go... that did it, George! Next spring I'm coming to your place with a bottle of ass-whup and you and THIS mick can sit down and writhe in agony together!:D

I have to say that I never met a better group of people in my life.It was great to meet all of you.The one thing I wish I learned though.....how the heck did i ever get out of boston....I couldnt do it again if I tryed ;)total mileage for the weekend.........1385:eek: most of it was circles :o
