Mini-knife suggestion?

My favorite small knife is the Benchmade Impel 3150. But if you are getting off looks from a SAK you probably wouldn't want to carry an auto. Not Even one that small and unassuming.

A cop gave you grief over a SAK ??

What is this Country coming to...NYC needs a big 'ol enema to get rid of all those mamby pamby morons making ordinances/laws/etc... Stick em in the East River with the rest of the pollution, where they belong!

The suggestion on the ultimate pen knife is good , I think theyre still make from VG10.

You could always take BigDude's advice. :D

Move to a free state.

Would love to. My job is chaining me down. ugh.

Hey, what about a spyderco balance?

After the hesitant purchase of a Spyderco Paramilly a month ago and the unforgettable bashing from the wife, I think I'll wait a few more years before spending over $100 for a knife

No, the cop was cool with it. It's the people walking past, elbowing each other "Psst, he's got a knife." and the inevitable lady coming up and the "Why do you need a knife?" I am sick of this city. For all the "progressive thinking" individuals who are supposedly "open-minded", they seem to translate "I use it to cut things" to "I am a sad byproduct of capitalism who's controlled by violent and negative chi that the dangerous knife emanates." Everyone's too busy being Freud to step off their high horses.

I will look into the ultimate penknife. That's a great suggestion! I'll also think about one of the smaller cases, I forgot about those.

My best and oldest friend was right , too many people in this Country lack common sense , thus they are stupid.

What about a Toothpick ? the Toothpick is my favorite slipjoint and small enough so that it should not offend any of those 'progressive' morons.

Try a keychain tool like 58mm SAKs or Leatherman Squirt series. If they still give you looks, then you should seriously consider moving.

+1 on the A.G. Ultimate Pen Knife. If you get the one with the bail you can easily attach it to your keyring so losing it won't be a problem. The original Ultimate Pen has plain Ti handles (as opposed to the "A. G. Ultimate Pen with Bolsters and Scales" - those don't have a bail) but if you do attach it to your keyring this can be a plus as the knife will doubtless get scuffed against keys, change, etc. It weighs next to practically nothing; you won't even notice it in your pocket and it's so tiny it almost looks like a toy. The blade retains an edge very well: I've been able to maintain mine simply by steeling it followed by stropping (I haven't had to take it to stones yet). In fact, I think this is THE perfect keyring knife, handy to have, really useful and totally unobtrusive.

That suck man. Curious - how were you carrying it, or using it when this happened?
