Hello Folks, Just finished this cool Mini Loveless style. I used an ivory tipped point that was pretty flat to start with so thought it would work well. It is from a 5 point antler i had bought many years ago at one of the Gun and Knife shows i used to attend quite a bit here in Portland Or. It is a much better looking knife in person and feels more like Ivory in hand. It is finely finished and made to be used. Hope you like it. Comments are always welcome.
Blade is CPM 154 .107 thick and 2.7 tip to guard. O/A is 6.75. Heat treated with CRYO quench and double tempered. Blade has been polished and finished with 2000 grit. Tang is tapered and hollow ground leaving .125 flat around the edge.
Guard is 416 stainless pinned and very carefully silver soldered. Fillet is full and very even and smooth. I use the SR Johnson process of boiling off any left over flux with baking soda and Dawn.
Handle is Ivory like elk antler held tight with .25 416 stainless corby rivets, .014 black G10 liners and lanyard hole.
Sheath is hand tooled and hand stitched 8-9 ounce leather. I use sole leather for the Loveless cam idea which works quite well to hold the knife nice and secure yet its easy to withdraw.
