Mini Manix

Now THAT is an awesome idea brother! Just awesome!
Count me in!

I like PM2s.

But I love the action that the Manix has.

IF... They do.. Keep the Caged ball. Not exposed.

The back lock kills that one for me. The BB lock out and out rocks!!
I think at last count I have 6 or 7 Manix 2s. Ergos and that lock are the main reasons.

IMO the Native 5 is close to a mini manix

I would argue the sage 3 is closer as it has a similar functioning locking mechanism and the blade shape is pretty similar.

A sage or a native is what you're looking for, at least, the closest offering from our favourite brand imo

I feel like I should also add that a mini-manix the native and sage knives are different enough from what you might expect from a mini-manix to justify a mini-manix. Especially for those that like the much stiffer spring of the caged ball lock.

I'm very fond of my Manix 2s. I would try a mini but the 2 feels perfect to me so I'd worry about a mini being too small. Still, I'd pick one up. My original Manix feels a bit too big.

The manix 2 is the low key best spyderco ever made in my opinion. Para 2 gets all the love, but the manix 2 is the real MVP.

I'd be SO down for a mini manix.

What do you think you could get the weight down to on a mini manix? Super interested.

I've got a Manix XL, Manix 2, and Manix LW and would probably grab a mini Manix if one were available. I think bikerector is right about the Sage 3, though, as being the closest available to what a mini Manix might be. I've collected all the Sages, including both versions of the 3, and they're among the smoothest knives I have--especially the CF Sage 3 and the first, liner-lock version.

Bikerector--I can't say that I'm a fan of the stiffer lock on the Manix. I was very happy when my XL and 2 both broke in enough that I didn't feel I would dislocate my fingers pulling it back.

Joe--The Sage 3 is still available new in the CF-over-G10 scales, though I like the disco'd blue G10 much better. They still pop up on the Exchange from time to time. You know, I think that there's enough similarity between the models that I just might put these shots over at the old Pics of Pairs thread too. Whaddya think, bro???

How "mini" are we talking here?

What about the upcoming Q Ball?

Not a caged ball and Wharncliffe blade but it's pretty close IMO to what an updated Mini Manix would be.

Here's an old school Mini Manix just because.

The Q ball looks like a improved Poliwog.

IMHO... The What "IF" mini Manix should retain the look and feel of the Manix2.

Just like the PM3 did.
Nice clean lines of a PM2
including the Compression Lock.
