My Mini Manix showed up today and wow! Sharpest knife out of the box yet! I just TOUCHED it to the side of my thumb and it made a small cut. Even my Emerson Bullnose Karambit didn't quite do that!
Solid lock-up, and pointy as hell.
I had to get one after I got one for my brother for his birthday. He was testing it out on one of my stabbing pillows and it stabbed and cut like a lightsaber. Never seen another knife do quite the same.
My only complaint is that they're discontinued. Maybe it just didn't look "tactical" enough to suck in the numbers needed to support continued production.

Ever since I gave my brother his, he's become a G-10 snob as well, and all his other knives seem cheap and crappy(even the one he was so proud of a week prior to getting the Mini Manix).

I think my dad will get one too. I feel like I've started a family sized "Spyderco Cult!"(I already got him to buy a Delica 4 Wave and traded him an Endura 4 Wave).

Keep making the good stuff Sal! I have no Spyderco complaints yet.

since when is the mini discontinued???? crap

Seems they both got discontinued at the same time. A very sad state of affairs.
Unfortunately, it seems as if a sizeable mall ninja contingent is needed to sustain sales of expensive knives, and a solid, tool oriented knife such as the Manix/mini Manix doesn't appeal to spoiled suburban white kids, I guess.
Grab em while you can.
The plus side is that Spyderco has dropped the price to empty the stocks.

Definately one of the best knives I own. My first one I've used so much I was dependent on it for everything. Pretty much shreds anything I put it up against. I like this knife so much I got another one just for back up, and just ordered another on in half serrated.... then I bought the paramilitary as backup's backup... then paramilitary in half serrated for backup's backup's backup. Guess you can't get just one... or maybe I just have compulsive knife buying disorder. .....help.

Yep, I have to get another one for backup reason.

I love them - I got one of the first production, so I had to get the last ones too. :)

Maybe one day comes the Manix 2 with ball lock...

I bought a mini manix from a friend at the last gun show I went to.
Found it a very solid knife and liked it better than the full sized version he also offerd me. Both were unused but no box, but hey for $50.00 bucks I could'nt go wrong. I have since taken the knife down and refined and smoothed it down a bit. I also did some file work on the lock and spine.
I also got spyderco to send me another clip (very nice of them)so that I could
facilitate both right and left hand carry. Mirror polished both clips and lock and spine. Now it's all mine.

50 bucks!?!?! That's the deal of the century right there. You should've bought as many as you could afford. Then you could've sold them on here for a serious profit, probably 100%. Nice find.

They were his private collection he was selling and if I had the cash on me I probably would have bought all he had, but I just purchased a green max laser sight for my Wifes Walther and had little cash. You know what they say, cash talks and bullsh*t walks. At least I got the manix, cause I told myself im getting her laser and leaving. oh well.
