I completed a new axe, this time just for me. :)
I changed the shape of the haft but the head is made in the same way like Little bastard (a forged piece of spring steel welded on a low grade carbon steel head).
Overall, this axe is smaller and lighter than the previous ones.
Here are some pictures

Hey Leon, That is a SWEET bearded axe, I want one too. A great looking functional sheath as well. REALLY nice work.
Can you give us the measurements of the head and the haft. Thanks.
Best regards

Robin

Hey guys, I'm glad you like it! :)
Overall is around 14 ounces, the cutting edge is 4 inch long and the haft is 12inch long.
I do not want to disappoint you, but, from time to time, I'm just a Saturday craftsman, I realy dont have time and a proper shop to work.
It's also hard for me to send something overseas and the taxes almost duble the price of the axe.
Sorry again!
Instead, I make a promise now, as soon the weather will allow me, I'll do a tutorial on how to make your own small axe (eventual using a metal craftsman experience).
Is not a big deal and the price should not be more than 30 $ (materials and workmanship).
In principle you need a cheap hatchet and a piece o spring steel (from a scrap yard), a welding machine (here can be the metal craftsman role), a portable grinder or metal saw, files and sandpaper, and a little skill.
I will post pictures soon.
I hope this a good deal. :)

Thanks Leon. So you use a hatchet then wed the hard bit in place? Interesting concept and quite easy to do as you say.

Best regards
