Just got a mini-persian from NGK. After owning probably 75% of the
Spyderco line in the past few years, and trading many of them, this may
be the ultimate EDC.

If Sal only had a nickel for every time he heard that :D

But the length is right, the weight is right, it's people friendly, and
I can actually seem to sharpen VG-10. I always loved the
Paramilitary s that I had, but I couldn't seem to sharpen them :confused:

NGK had the mini-persians on sale when I ordered it -- does that mean these
things are going to be discontinued???
 
I agree...the mini persian has been my EDC for the last couple months. It is a nice looking and functional knife.
 
It is great that you find the one, just wondering if you tried full size Persian?

Not in this case....likely just overstocked.

Check out the new Spyderco 2007 catalog (you can see it on the Spyderco.com website if no where else...heck they will even ship ya one for free). It has at least another year...I would think many more than that.
 
Hey bh49,

Yes, I did try the full-size Persian, and liked it quite a bit - but a little
too big and heavy for EDC. If I'm outside in the yard, or in the woods,
I carry something bigger.

My typical outside knife is a CE FRN Endura. I'd like it to be a paramil,
but I can't sharpen that S30V steel very well. Sure wish the paramil
came with VG-10 ...
