Mini Prybars

Thanks for all the input, guys. Sorry I posted this in the wrong forum. Once I leave the safety of the ESEE forum, I'm at a total loss :)

I never thought of using them to remove staples and that's something that's a pain for me so it was worth at least that much.

So, I guess the bottom line is: you probably won't need one but keep one close-by in a bag or something for those off-times?

I too, would like to know if anyone has taken theirs through airport security.

I have taken steel and Ti prybars through airport security on my keys many, many times with no problems at all. I fly around Asia a lot and back to the UK usually once a year.

I have 2 Atwoods but make alot of prybars my self, here are a couple of Ti prybars I made for folks on the forum a while back as well as my own one.

I almost always have bitten-down nails (whenever I'm not wearing Invisalign, the habit returns). Little things like peeling oranges, opening cans with pull rings, and pulling labels are impossible.

I carry a micro widgy pry bar in my coin pocket, with a little bead chain. When I'm wearing a nylon belt, I slip it in the velcro section. It's a substitute fingernail!

I have one from countycomm. I bought mine after seeing pics of it in many different threads and the owners telling how useful they are. Well I've had mine residing in the little coin pocket in my jeans for the past 6 months and I have not found a single need for it. I was surprising since I have a labor intensive job and thought it was going to be a real time saver.

I'm not too upset though as they're not too expensive. I know I've wasted money on worse things. I still keep it in my coin pocket day after day in hope that I'll finally find a use for it. I still think deep down that it'll come in handy sometime so if you have a few extra bucks I say go for it.

I have the smallest version on my keyring , I've used it many times for chores I do not want to gunk up my edc knife for like opening boxes, it zips thru tape just fine.

edit - I also edc an old Proto screwdriver on same keyring , not shmancy like the custom ones but still an American classic :)

I have the large and medium Widgy bars. I keep the medium on my key ring with car and house keys only. Rest of keys in back pocket on Nite Ize. I use the medium size, guess its the mini widgy bar almost daily. Scrape stuff, turn standard screws, pull out staples alot of other things too. I really want to grind a bottle opener into the standard full length widgy, need to work on that i might carry it instead of the little one.

I like the look of the Gerber Shard : )

Does anyone know where to get one ? And will ship to Australia ? Looked on ebay _ nothing at all , just lots of gerber artifacts....
