Hello,

So i really like the Southard but it's size is what prevents me from buying it.
I prefer smaller folders being 3" ideal.
I know i'm not alone in this so how many of you would like to this alternative?
Show the love for the Mini Southard and, who knows, maybe they make it ;)

thanks

Brad posted this little number which he made for TKI 2014 the other day.

So much want...

I would much enjoy a 3" southard, no other Spyderco's have the [folded] profile the Southard does, I'm mainly interested in that aspect of it more than the flipper or overall design.

I would love to see a 2.75"-3" Southard (based off the mini-AWT or those newer, thinner handle designs).
I really like the slim profile afforded by the flipper design, but for a smaller blade to accommodate a functional Spydie-hole, it will likely require a small hump.

The one thing I'd consider mandatory in a future Spyderco-Southard collaboration is balanced scale thickness.

Not if you're only legally allowed a sub 3" folder like in L.A.

You're always talking about larger knives and how much you like them here on the forums. Let the guys who want a larger Southard have their opinion without you always responding with the blade limit in your area, you like ZT and bigger knives anyway. You want a 3 inch Southard and you've been lobbying for it ok, we get it but don't use LA as an excuse... You just want one. Just like a four inch Southard would be good for others.

I would love to see either the normal size or small with a stainless steel lock interface. But as Eric Glesser described in the shot show 2014 video, they do not feel that the design needs the stainless interface; ie, it will never have one. :grumpy:

I think the southard is small enough, a bigger one would suit me better.

The title of the thread is "Mini Southard - Who wants one?". I was responding to Jastab's post that the Southard is already small enough. I say that there's room and market for a 3" Southard. Also, I think there's a market for a 3.75"-4" Southard. I'll get one of each.

I will always continue posting about the need for more sub 3" blade folders.

I'd definitely be in for a 3" Southard...as I've posted a few times on several forums.

Agree with you Ramzar. The beauty of Spyderco is that once I get a knife I like, I start looking for smaller and larger variants of similar. I too would buy one of each.
