i just got a cold steel mini tac tanto a couple days ago and i looked at it a couple minutes ago and there were very small black dots on it and i dont know what it is and if it will hurt my knife.thanks
 
See if they rub off with plain cloth, a small bit of polishing compound and light pressure, buffing compound, oil and a rag, or if you don't care about scratching the finish use sandpaper or steel wool.
