Dear CRK.

Any plans to make a mini unum with a sub 3" blade ever?A lot of people will buy them. If anyone else here would like to see a mini version, please let it be known in this thread. I would have bought one but 3" or longer blades are illegal to carry where I live.

Thank you.

Where do you live? I feel bad for u... in florida apparently anything around 4 inches is still considered a tool

I don't see myself buying an Unum, as it's simply larger than I carry, but I'd absolutely buy a smaller version.

I don't see the point of a mini...if you want a small knife why not just buy a small sebi?

Obviously hard work will not be done with such a small knife so a small sebi should be all that is needed.

I hope you are joking about not seeing the point. If CRK had used that logic, we would not have the Umnumzaan as the Large Sebenza can have been used for all "large folding knife" applications.

I love my Large Sebenzas. However, they have not found their way into my pocket since I received my Umnumzaan. By contrast I have carried my small Sebenzas and Mnandi due to restrictions on blade length. I think that the Umnumzaan design would translate to a fantastic smaller knife. I am not a knife designer, but if you could shrink the Umnumzaan to under a 3" blade it might never leave my pocket.

All that being said... I seem to remember an interview (linked on these forums) where Chris himself said they were looking to develop a smaller Umnumzaan.

Thanks...

I agree.

And to answer the other question. I live in Los Angeles CA.

Funny, my Spyderco Spur, a knife smaller than a Sm Seb, was my primary duty folder for about 6 years and it handled hard use just fine. Wish I had checked with you before I used it all that time:rolleyes:

The Umnumzaan just came out not so long ago, and most people have not had a chance to see why it is such an awesome knife. I am sure once the Umnumzaan finds its rightful reputation up there with the Sebenza one will come out. Doesnt make much financial sense to release a small yet.

In addition, they are redesigning the Umfaan! Definitely should check that out.

I'm NOT joking....personally i don't carry knives that small and i don't see the point of a heavy duty knife like the umnum in a small size when there is a small sebi to clean finger nails....oh yah...my wife has a small sebi. :)

Well maybe you don't understand that the small sebbie can do almost everything the large can while taking up less space and weighing less. If I'm wrong name some things a large seb can do that a small can't.

Congrats your wife must be strong woman! My 100lb girlfriend can't even open my small sebenza.

The small seb can't compensate for a tiny penis

(( Not the forum for this. ))

At BLADE, I went to the CRK booth to buy an Umnumzaan, a knife that has had my attention since its release. The only reason I hadn't already bought one was because I wanted to handle it first. After chatting with Heather while handling the Umnum, a small Seb and a Mnandi, I chose the small Sebenza 21. I loved everything about the Umnum except its size. With that said, I'd jump all over a smaller version of it in a heartbeat!

...snip

Really?? Sweet! I'll be keeping an eye out for this. :):):)
