Miniature long dagger/sword

No problem Greg, I've got maybe 40# of cast bronze, if you want more let me know. I do like how easy it is to work, works quick like brass but seems to file and grind a bit smoother than brass, just clean your files often.

Looking great Greg. Any update on this? I'm really digging this one...

I'm pretty near completion now. The blade has been sanded to 2000 grit, and I'm working through the grits on the handle. That will take a bit longer due to the irregular shapes... and the fact I have relatives visiting and a 2 year old to watch while they trek off to Vancouver. ;)

Can't wait to see I Greg! A tip for working with a two year old, (don't know if you have kids or not) my son is two and a half, I give him some blunt end files, some popcicle sticks, a block of wood and he usually pretends he is doing the same work as me while sitting at the table next to me. Just don't get too involved, you may have to quit at a moments notice! I usually just roll it all up in a towel. If all else fails, get a copy of Finding Nemo, that'll give you at least an hour and a half of peace and quiet!

Gonna get my mini going tomorrow and hopefully start another one.

As I was sanding the handle, I noticed it was too flat and 2 dimensional. I decided to get out the needle file and do some more work to define the shapes. The result it I'm back to square one on the sanding, but I like the shape a lot better. I think I've got a bit more filing to do before I start sanding again.

Looks awesome bud!

I decided to attempt a full hand guard for the sword blade. It's still WAY too chunky, but I think it's starting to come together. Of course the inner handle is mammoth ivory from a small piece of scrap barely suited for inlay.

I like them both a lot. The guard looks good. Once you thin it out it will look fantastic. Thread that tang and make it a mini take down haha....

Greg, Your attention to detail was very apparent on your other knives but really shows on these mini's. Nice. Jess

Since people have been teasing me about making a take down, I threaded the tang on this and attached a small nut to it. I don't think I'll keep it as a take down, but it's something I'm still considering.
