I thought I was caught up on these a couple weeks ago, but the last batch of 8 of them sold out in just a couple days!
The Mini Chopper!! Those that know me know I like my choppers BIG!! So this cute little blade, to me, is a mini chopper at 15.25" OAL
Perfect size for a lightweight pack knife at 2 pounds 0 ounces {with sheath}! about the same weight as a hatchet, but with 10" of razor sharp, chopping, slicing, Goodness!!
this one was forged out of a leaf spring from my friends ranch, have no idea what vehicle it came off of, but he said they quit adding to that pile a few decades ago. knives ive forged from these springs have cut very well.
OAL- 15 1/4"
blade- 10" long, .240" thick, 2" wide
steel- leaf spring, Forged, with in-house differential heat treatment which includes triple normalize, triple anneal, triple edge quench, and triple draw, for a great performing blade, that holds a great edge, and yet is easy to sharpen!
grind- a flat grind, with a convex edge, sharpened on a smiths diamond hone with micro bevels, to an agressive razor edge
finish- hammer finish, with a rough 220 grit machine finish on the bevels under a scotchbrite belt finish, for a rough and ready, easy to maintain working finish
handle- leather slabs, wrapped in jute cord, and soaked in epoxy
guard- no guard on this one, but the handle is contoured to steer your hand away from the cutting edge
sheath- 10oz leather, hand stitched, clean, dyed, hot-waxed, loop is sized for a 2" belt. personally I keep a blade like this one strapped to my pack instead of on my belt
before I put a handle on her, I cut a 2x4 in half twice, and the edge would still shave. it also passed an edge flex test, and put about half my wieght {210 lbs}to flex the blade sideways in a vise to check for toughness.
$155 plus $15 for shiping/insurance to CONUS. I can accept paypal Joe357m@bresnan.net or money order, or silver at spot price.
SOLD!!!
1st to post "I'll take it" gets it!!!
Ships within 48 hours of payment priority with ins.
Feedback appreciated, and thanks for looking!
If you would like one like this one or different, PM or email with details!
