I've recently become interested in purchasing an MD player(alright, an hour ago), can anyone share thier experience with these?

What are the price ranges? What are the best models, and by what brand? What are thier advantages? Any info would be appreciated.

Darn, I couldn't find anything via the search function before I posted, but I tried searching up to a year back manually, and found this thread.

My GF has had a sony minidisk that I bought her three years ago. Uses it for recording classes and for playing music. Has loaded music off the computer and the stereo. Never had a problem and the small size means it is easy for he to take everywhere. She has reused some of the disks up to 15 times so far with no noticable degredation in quality. Very happy with purchase. Beats the heck out of a tape recorder.

Dragon,

Are you looking for a portable or deck sized player?

Regards,

Ed

Oh, for a car.

I'm looking at the Sony MZ-R900DPC right now. Can anyone tell me about Sony models and stuff?

Can't go wrong with Sony, IMO. I have three: two portable models, MZ-E40 (play only) and MZ-R55 (play/record); and the basic component model. Great sound quality for the price.

We use the deck-size Sony's to record our church services digitally. We have it rackmounted in our soundsystem. The capabilities for editing are amazing and the media is unbeatable/unscratchable!
We also have two of the small units. One Casio and one Sony. The Sony will record but not edit, the Casio is just a player. For the $100 Casio it has held up INCREDIBLY and has taken a beating with our crew. Whichever one you choose you will wonder, like we do, why this media does not get more press!?!

Sorry but I do not have the units handy and cannot remember the model #s!
