Minimum number of knives?

. . .at least. . .not until the "knife lords" stop making or producing knives !

"What to carry" also comes into the equation. . .

Personally, I think that the magic number of knives to gather is between 50 and 75.

Why this particular set of numbers. . .you ask.

Hell, I don't know.

I can't even get my EDC line-up down pat yet. As of 2 days ago it consisted of a large plain Sebenza, Benchmade 690, Jason Jacks Raptor, Microtech LCC DA, Obenauf Model 1, Microtech SOCOM MA, Kershaw Random Task, Darrel Ralph EDC, Kershaw Double Cross, Microtech UT-6, Dobruski Atlantis Model 2, and Kit Carson Model 4.

Then, 2 days ago, I see this knife that has a handle with a bunch of holes in it, a blade hangin' off of it that's made of super cool steel and the knife has some kinda secret encrypted name. . .

See what I mean ? ? ?

tough choices i have over 300 from military to pocket knives more fixed than folders though. if i wanted to do more than just survive for just a few days and wanted to really live in creature comforts i would have my busse steel heart-e, victor nox hiker, gerber multi tool scout, and maybe my spec plus quartermaster, with these i could chop, cut, build, skin, defend.and if i needed entertainment i would want my balisong for flipping fun.

I am pretty happy right now with the following:

Leatherman Micra (On keychain)
Leatherman Wave (On belt)
Chris Reeve Shadow IV (Combat / Duty / Survival fixie)
Benchmade 910 Stryker - M2 steel (Duty folder)
Buck 110 custom - Sambar stag handles, BG-42 blade (Hunting)
Ontario Machette (18" I think) (obvious camp / wilderness chores)
Navy MK III-Mod O (in trunk of car)
A thowing Tomahawk - my custom, or maybe another ATC (Fun, Field duty, Survival)
Various Boker, Buck, and Old Timer mini pen knives (for descrete "pocket-change" carry)

And I am currently deciding on keeping either a:
Chris Reeve Lg. Sebenza or Benchmade 750 Pinnacle (not sure if the CR is 'that' much better yet...still in 'testing' phase) - (for general carry)

But...I guess if I had to cut it down to only one....it would be the CR Shadow IV.

I need counseling and I can see that I am not the only one...........
I have not actually counted how many knives I have but it's not enough!

I KNOW I have too many. My problem is figuring out which ones I should get rid of!

Mike,
I have a wonderful idea, just pack them all up and send them to me and I will go through them and send you back the ones you need! LOL!

I'm down to 17 in my knife case. These are the ones I just can't part with.

I have some others scattered around, but I don't really count those. :-)
