Minimum soak time for o1 at 1475?

Using 1/8 and 3/16 steel. Trying to limit decarb and avoid using anti scale stuff. My first oven appreciate any and all help.

Appreciate that trip. I'm familiar with cashen more looking for people's experience. Seems to me like even 10 minutes is a long time for 1/8"

I go 30 minutes at 1500 with O1 and they come out clean. I've probably heat treated 200 linear feet of O1 this way.

I've seen a lot of makers soak for 10-15 minutes with good results.

But I myself soak for 30 min. I don't get a lot of scaling so I opt for really good soak at 800 degC (1475).

Depends what you start with. Fine spheroidized needs about 10 but coarse pearlite better at 15 min. Be accurate with temperature to eliminate grain growth !
