Very nice thanks for giving us this close up look I think it might have been easy for Jim to make this one look good. I cant wait to see what David comes up with next

I am so proud of all my friends

From David and Jim to Dudley for his excellent taste

What is not to like

This is an extremely great piece

So organic and raw but with a classical design that transcends time

This piece would look at home on an ancient Japanese Battlefield or on the hip of a SCI Fi character

Jim's pics are high art

Congrats to all

Dudley my friend---- what an acquisition!!!

I can imagine some of the purists finding something about this they don't approve of.

However, to my mind & eye... It is absolutely BRILLIANT!!!

I think David knocked it out of town with this magnificent work of art that bridges some classic old school lines and techniques with some modern materials and processes.

Amazing!

Of course, Coop's work brings us a fantastic opportunity to see overall beauty, as well as the killer details of David's hard work.

Thank you for sharing my friend!!! :D

Droooooooooool.

I can't get enough of this piece. Truly spectacular work!

Blending old and new is a very difficult thing to do well and this one is perfect.

I particularly like the habaki, seppa and tsuba and Coop's photo makes it pop wonderfully.

If only my budget allowed for non-carry pieces...Someday!

What do you mean non carry pieces :)

I wore its brother all over Blade last year

It took home the best sword of Blade last year

Joe, that is wicked!! Love it!!

Unfortunately my settings are a little too urban to allow me to carry something like that (although I'd love to). I'm limited to smaller, EDC pieces at the moment but hopefully that will change soon!

What's different about your piece? Looks killer from here!

Evan I'm just playing :)

I can remember 20 years ago picking up a Hartsfield Katana at the New York SHOW

I stuck it is a leather sword bag and walked around Manhattan with it all day. Boy times have changed :)

Regretfully the sword in my pic is not mine. It belongs to an astute collector and I was just the middle man :)

I did get to play with it for the show and congratulate my brother David when it won all the marbles

Here it is

I am sure Dudley's new sword if put in this year would do the same

Hi guys,

^^^ It's all this and more. The dreamy steel requires a really close look, and it's got wonderful subtle patterning.

David, as you can see, has a GREAT artistic eye. Let me show you how he guided me on THIS piece. He liked my last version of this (on Joe's belt), and he asked for a 'mirror image'.

So it will look attractive in his print portfolio. :D

I'm impressed. Congrats, Dudley. (Oh, and please read post 891. Especially point #1`. ;))

Coop

Dudley, thanks for posting this great photo by Coop. If you had to wait for me,
it may never have gotten posted! I hope that when it arrives it meets your expectations.
I'm really pleased with this sword. There is a great amount of time that goes into a piece like this,
but the satisfaction level is very high when everything comes together at the end.
Thanks to all that have posted their comments. I know that I don't post often. I'll try to
change that this new year.
I've also got to thank my brother Joe. He has pushed me to concentrate more on these swords.
And also STeven, who's knowledge and input is always valued and greatly appreciated.

Last but certainly not least, Coop... Thanks for making my work look so good!

VERY nice!

That's one I would like to see&feel "live"...

Kind regards,

Jos

This amazing piece hit the door yesterday and it's been hard to put it down....the amount of work and the perfection entailed cannot be assessed even with Coop's extraordinary photographic skills.

MANY thanks to David for his magnificent work, to Joe for introducing me to David at Blade and allowing me to hang around with the Big Boys, and last but faaar from the least, Jim Cooper for his superior eye and great work......thank you all! :)
